The Jatropha System - an integrated approach of rural development

1. Jain Irrigation is a company dedicated to agriculture for past four decades.

2. We have been seriously involved in Jatropha in its entirety i.e. cultivation, selection, multiplication and processing. We do own cultivation as well as lease and contract farming. We have currently over 150 acres under Jatropha cultivation. Small portion is as old as one and half year while we also have tie-up with other farmers who have plantation as old as five years.

3. Our library research on all aspects of Jatropha is an ongoing exercise and so far we have been able to collect over 160 published articles in respect of Jatropha worldwide.

4. We can support you in the accession of seeds of high oil content. To be sure, our accessions and selections include seeds from foreign countries including Brazil, South Africa, Mali, Germany and Nicaragua. Our search for further improvement is continuing. We have also achieved a great measure of success in tissue culture micropropagation / cloning of selected varieties.
