Jatropha in Indonesia

In Indonesia,  Jatropha curcas L (JCL) is known as Jarak tree, Jarak Cino or Jarak Pager (on Java island).

It is found on the islands:
  • Java
  • Timor
  • Flores
It is used for:
  • living fence
  • ornamental
  • medicinal
  • lighting purposes (seeds)

In Indonesia the company of Mr. Heryanto Ardiya succeeded to select some early flowering and high yielding Jatropha plants and multiplied them by cuttings in an industrial scale in nurseries. Here are some of the photos:
